Oracle Cards – Northern Folk Tradition”
This is a very special divination deck that features themes
from Northern European indigenous
pagan folk culture on large size glossy cards. The cards are 5 inches tall so that detail
in the
images can be seen, each with two stanzas of lyrical verse. There are
42 cards in this deck which
is an independently created oracle that is not mass produced on an
industrial scale. It is printed
only in small print runs.
Like the Tarot, this deck is filled with important cultural archetypes that
represent deep meaning.
Unlike the Tarot, the deck is fully inspired by the legends, lore, folk and fairy culture of Northern
Europe. It is in a unique format that can work with traditional divination spreads or in
simple
“one card of the day” type readings for daily insight and inspiration.
Each card features beautiful artwork in Nordic and Celtic themes and
corresponding poetic
verses adapted from Carolyn Emerick’s “Pagan Poems” series. The image plus the
lines on the
card may be all you need to get your answer, however if unsure what to make of the card, there
is
an accompanying booklet with further information on each card.
These cards can be used for divination purposes alongside Norse runes, Tarot, or Lenormand
decks. It also works wonderfully as a therapeutic daily deck for motivational guidance for
everyday life. Let the folkloric imagery and lyrical
