RUNE Cards – Elder Futhark Plus
These are “bridge sized” cards featuring the full 24 runes of the Elder Futhark plus an additional
12 folk symbols to make a full divination deck of 36 cards. Bridge sized cards are as tall as poker
cards and slightly less wide. This size was chosen for easy shuffling and to be easy to carry with
you.
These cards are illustrated with great care using the glorious artwork from our illustrious
Northern European heritage to depict the essence of each rune. The artwork brings the meaning
of each rune to life which is helpful to those who are new to runes while enhancing readings for
more experienced runesters.
Included in the additional symbols are a Man and Woman card (Ask and Embla of Norse
Mythology) so that the deck can be used with “signifiers” to stand for people. Ask and Embla
may also represent general male and female energies as well as the concept of preservation and
rebirth (such as their role in the Norse Myths).
Other additional symbols were chosen to enhance the fortune telling ability of the deck so it will
be appealing to people used to systems with more than the basic 24 symbols, such as Tarot or
Lenormand cards. For instance, the Norse goddess Nótt is represented with a moon symbol to
correspond with Dagaz, the Day rune.
This is an  independently created runic oracle that is not mass produced on an industrial scale. It
is printed only in small print runs. It will appeal to rune castors, tarot card collectors, Lenormand
readers, and those who use other such “fortune telling” and divination card decks
